Well I apologize for the lack of updates. Jeremy is in France and doing well, but he doesn't have access to the internet yet so he can't blog about it. I would much rather him write his own blog posts then me try to write it based on what he tells me on the phone. As for me, I'm just getting last minute shipment stuff ready. The shipping company is coming on the 22nd and now that Jeremy is in France there is stuff we realized we don't need or won't fit in the apartment, and other stuff we realized we do need.
I am having major complications getting my visa approved so I don't know how long I will be stuck in the US. I'm not quite sure what I am and am not allowed to discuss, but suffice it to say that what the woman at the New York French consulate is asking of me may or may not be entirely legal and now Jeremy's company has to get involved in trying to get me over there. Once everything is said and done and I understand more, I will divulge. Until then, I don't want to say things that may not be true. It's all very confusing.
Another thing I'm having trouble with is my prescription medication. I wanted an extra three months worth to bring with me to give me enough time to settle in, get my French medical insurance started, and find an English speaking doctor. I asked the pharmacy and they said I needed to contact my health insurance. I contacted my health insurance and they said the maximum they allow is a thirty day supply, no matter what. I can either pay for it out of pocket and not get reimbursed, or someone can pick it up for me each month and mail it to me! I didn't even know that was allowed, not to mention it can take 2 weeks for mail to get from the US to France and it doesn't always actually arrive. I guess it's my only option, because I'm sure as heck not paying out of pocket.
This whole ordeal is so stressful; I can feel my blood pressure spiking! I just can't wait until I'm actually over there and everything has calmed down. At least by the time I actually get over there, Jeremy should have most of his stuff handled so we don't have to both be bugging out at the same time.
